Clifton Gardens Reserve

Overview
Located in Sydney’s Lower North Shore, Clifton Gardens Reserve in Mosman is a timed off-leash dog area.
Dogs may be exercised off leash on the grassed reserve areas all day Monday to Friday, and before 9am or after 4pm on Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays; off-leash on the beach east of Clifton Gardens jetty is permitted before 9am and after 4pm weekdays (winter), and before 9am and after 6pm during daylight savings.
The reserve is known for its scenic harbour-front layout with sandy shoreline, a netted swimming enclosure, picnic and seating facilities, play equipment, and accessible grassy lawns. Parking is available (pay and display), with amenities including toilets, shade, and a wharf.
Owners should note that dogs are prohibited off leash on weekends and public holidays in certain areas (grassed and beach zones) during restricted hours. Dogs must be under effective control at all times. Leash rules apply outside the designated off-leash periods and in non-grassed or prohibited zones.
The reserve is close to Balmoral, with cafés and shops nearby, ferry access via the wharf, and walking tracks through adjoining bushland.
Clifton Gardens Reserve is best suited to dogs that are confident, enjoy water access, and have reliable recall — especially for swimming or playing near shared picnic or playground areas.
Clifton Gardens Reserve is managed by Mosman Council.
