Heathcote Oval's fenced dog park opened in 2023 as one of Sutherland Shire's newest dedicated canine facilities, setting a high standard for off-leash spaces in the region. The purpose-built enclosure spans nearly 2,500 square metres, surrounded by a robust 1.8-metre fence with double-gated access points for secure entry and exit. Thoughtful amenities include shaded rest areas, a picnic shelter, accessible water fountains with dog bowls, and landscaped zones that make extended visits genuinely enjoyable.

Located on the northern boundary of Heathcote Oval in the leafy southern suburb of Heathcote, the park sits within a well-established sports and recreation precinct. The area has a quiet, bushland-adjacent character that adds to the relaxed atmosphere of the facility.
