Animal Welfare League NSW Kemps Creek Shelter

Overview
The Kemps Creek shelter is AWL NSW’s primary rehoming facility, caring for surrendered, abandoned, and neglected animals from across Western Sydney and beyond.
Pets available for adoption are listed online and come desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, flea-treated, and wormed.
Adoption
Dogs, cats, and other small animals are available for adoption through the shelter, with visits welcome seven days a week from 10 am to 3:30 pm. Booking ahead is encouraged for specific animals.
Lost Pet
If you find a stray animal, AWL NSW asks that it be taken to your local council pound, not directly to Kemps Creek.
Council facilities are responsible for scanning microchips and reuniting pets with their owners.
Donate
The shelter accepts donations of blankets, towels, toys, and pet supplies delivered directly on-site, as well as monetary contributions to support animal care and veterinary treatment.
Volunteer
Volunteer applications open quarterly. Roles generally involve animal care, cleaning, and enrichment, with a minimum age of 18 and a regular shift commitment. Volunteer applications are submitted online via the AWL NSW website.
