Smoothey Park

Overview
Smoothey Park in Wollstonecraft is a serene, nature-focused off-leash area blending European-style formal parkland with natural bushland along Berry Creek, connected to the wild Gore Cove Reserve. Just 20 metres from Wollstonecraft railway station, the 1.5-kilometre park network features lit pathways, benches, bridges over the creek, and abundant birdlife including kingfishers, wrens, and rosellas. Aboriginal shell middens within the valley reflect thousands of years of cultural significance.
Steps from Wollstonecraft's vibrant village cafes and shops, the park offers an accessible nature experience that's rare so close to the CBD. Note that dogs must remain leashed in all bushland sections — only the formal parkland areas permit off-leash movement.
Smoothey Park in Wollstonecraft suits owners who value nature immersion, birdlife, and walkability alongside their off-leash visit. The combination of formal gardens and bushland makes it one of the most atmospheric parks in the North Sydney LGA.
Smoothey Park is managed by North Sydney Council.
